Weigh-in Weds

Week three of the ViSalus 90 day challenge. Here is the break down for that week

1) Diet has been ok, not stellar, but better than last week. What I have noticed and it is something I am thinking about when I eat and that is portion control. While eating better is hard, the portion control is something that I am getting a grip on. Now if I can add the better choices that would be awesome. I’m getting there. You will see.

2) Workout this week consisted of 2 workouts with “Insanity” and 1 gym workout with 20 min run and modified circuit. Here is where I thought I would be ok, and I am sure I am, but it’s boring me. So I am going to change up my workout routine. Still 3 times a weeks but here is a quick break down.

             a) running: 1 mile (Sprint the straight aways, walk the curves)

             b) weights:

Monday – Back, Legs & Abs

                        Wednesday – Chest, Tri’s & Abs

                        Friday – Shoulders, Bi’s & Abs

3) ViSalus Supplements

           a) Meal replacements are still bueno. Seems like I am having them the most on the mornings. My wife made a choco, banana and cherry shake. It tastes awesome!

           b) Gonna start using Vi-slim with all my workouts starting Monday…I am very un-motivated to go and work out so it takes me a bit  to get in the “groove” so I am gonna start using Vi-slim for the kick I need.

Ok so week 3 again only 1 LBS. I think with my workout modified and better food choices next week will be a better week. Watch and see.

Wednesday Weigh-In

Week two of the ViSalus 90 day challenge. Here is the break down for that week

1) Diet, diet, diet. Was out of town for a wedding and had about 5 bad meals this week. Still learning how to keep my body in check with my diet. It’s harder than I thought.

2) I’ve only worked out twice in the past seven days. 20 minutes of jogging at a 5.5 to 5.9 MPH. Still with my modified cardio

3) ViSalus Supplements:

a) still liking the meal replacements. With the variations my wife is making with them, they aren’t “getting old” at all. I am varying between 1 to 2 shakes a day depending on how I have eaten for the day

b) Neuro and Vi-Trim stilling working

c) I tried Vi-Slim this week. The directions say to take them for a fat burner and to boost metabolism and to take them with a  beverage, but here is what I am doing with it. Reading the ingredient list for Vi-Slim, it is hopped up on caffeine. Most of the blend is caffeine, so what I did is I used it for my pre-work out “pick me up”. I took 2 pills about 25 minutes before I worked out and it gave me a nice “kick” during my workout. I have tried Universal Shock Therapy, SciVation, BSN,  Controlled labs White Flood and while these are different in some aspects mainly the Nitric Oxide that Vi-Slim doesn’t have, the “kick” to Vi-slim is very comprable to the other brands.

So the results after a worse week than week 1?

I LOST 1 LBS…It’s eh, but I need to keep my diet in better shape.

I’m fat and skeptical…what do I have to lose?

Yup…I’m fat. I am ok to admit that because I am going to do something about it and track my progress here. Why do it here? Well I am starting with the 90 day challenge by ViSalus. I am a little skeptical if this will work (ViSalus has blown up in the supplement market), but I have nothing to lose. For years I was way into weight lifting. I researched my lifting products from what forms of whey protein are best, multi-vitamin, pre and post workout drinks, fat burners, fish oils…yeah the whole 9 I did. I even for a few years before they were banned was took Andro.

So I am not a newbie when it comes to supplements or living healthy…I just got lazy, real lazy. I see my wife who has birthed our two kiddos and she is hot, fit and in good shape…and then there is me…I’m 34, fat and would pass out running a mile right now. Well that is going to change starting today.

In conjunction with the ViSalus Shake (for meal replacement), Vi-Slim (to me with all the ingredients looks like a good pre-workout supplement to get you kick started), Vi-Trim (as an appetite suppressant during the mid-afternoon hours. I will only be using 1 a day) and lastly Neuro for a energy boost when needed (and cheaper than a Monster, Red Bull, etc.). I am also doing a modified Paleo diet and will work out 3 times a week (light lifting and cardio)

So here goes nothing…ViSalus 90 days challenge here I come!

I am not going to do the whole body fat measurements, because that’s not important to me right now, my goals are:

1) lose between 25 and 30 pounds in the 90 days (starting weight is 227)

2) fit into my waist 34 jeans (I wear a very tight fitting 36)

3) run a 5k

Simple goals, but mean a lot to me…So let’s see how this goes. As a pastor it is important (to me) to be in good physical condition. As pastors our lives are busy, busy, busy and the easiest thing to neglect are our eating habits, health and physical appearance. I need to turn that around.

So every Wednesday on my blog I am devoting it to “Weigh-in Wednesday”, I will break down how I am doing on my lifestyle change of eating, running, lifting and my HONEST opinions of these Visalus products.
