I waited a day to post about our very first service for Revive Church. Forgive me if there is no rhyme or reason for the post. Just wanting to get all my thoughts and dump them here.

  • Launching a church IN AUSTIN had been something that had dropped inside both me and the wife’s heart for years now. So seeing it all come together on Sunday was dreamlike. Seeing dozens of people transform a high school cafeteria and three classrooms into a church is truly a sight to see. While there was a lot of commotion, work was done and done well
  • I was truly honored and humbled by all the friends and family that joined us for our first service
  • I love love love our launch team…they worked hard, they sweated and they did it with a smile on their face and I could not be more proud of them.
  • Planting Revive reminds me more ever than before that WE, WE ALL need others latching on to one another to accomplish great things! There is no way I could have done any of this if it weren’t for the many sacrifices of our launch team. THANK YOU!!!
  • My prayer for weeks was “God, please let people show up.” Selfish? Maybe, but I’m just being honest. In the end we had 99 people show up on Sunday. I say that isn’t too shabby. čÖé
  • For those who don’t know it, but Revive Church is a self financed church plant? What does that mean? We have no huge church network backing us┬áfinancially. What you see during the service are financial donations of people like you and our launch team. We are planting a church on a shoe-string budget, but you wouldn’t know it. We had to go way beyond frugal…but it looks awesome!
  • I was way beyond nervous giving the┬áinaugural message for Revive, with family, friends and my spiritual mentor in the audience my nerves were shot, but in the end God was glorified and that’s all that matters.
  • I woke up Monday morning sore, tired and spiritual drained, as I know the rest of the team felt as well (all of the team is bi-vocational, so they had to go to work on Monday morning…talk about dedication huh?), but I had a smile on my face thinking “Thank you God, that we get a chance to do it again in 7 days.”
  • I am amazed , blown away, not understanding how God works. How He (God) can use someone like me. Someone so far from perfect, a sinner…but yet can use someone like me to proclaim His message of hope. Some one who is better at sinning than living a pure holy life. I thank God that he is a God of Second Chances…cause I need all the chances I can get.
  • Lastly…here are a few pics from last Sunday.
